A campaign to ignite generosity and unwavering kindness,
so families experiencing homelessness can learn, grow, and plan for a stable future at The Hope for Families Center.
We offer a structured program that promotes stability, dignity, and self-reliance by teaching homeless families the habits and routines needed to thrive and live as contributing members of their community.
Today, you have the opportunity to reimagine what our community would be like if struggling families with the will to change had access to the support they need to succeed.
Philanthropy is the connector between your family and families at HFC. Your gifts provide the resources to fuel our impact on families who are learning to reimagine and use hope as a longterm motivator.
You can be confident in your investment, knowing HFC has provided families with the skills and pathways to overcome the inherited obstacles that accompany generational poverty and the trauma it inflicts.
While seven months pregnant, Michele broke away from an unstable and dangerous relationship that left her and her three children living in their car. Through the advice of a social worker, Michele contacted The Hope for Families Center.
Although afraid and angry, she didn’t let her circumstances deter her from learning how to build a stable future for herself and her children. A short time after arriving at HFC, she welcomed a healthy son.
Michele followed The Hope for Families Center program wholeheartedly. She found a job she enjoys and a reliable daycare for her two youngest children. Her two older children attended high school and secured after-school jobs. Today, Michele is succeeding, while her children watch and learn. She was promoted to a supervisory position at work, built a savings account, and moved out of HFC.
Michele still maintains contact with the HFC case managers who taught her so much. She shared that she hopes to be a homeowner through the Habitat for Humanity program and start her own business one day. She knows it will take patience, perseverance, and the help of others, but she also knows that these things are worth hoping for and can be achieved.
On a typical day, 15-20 struggling families like Michele’s call The Hope for Families Center for assistance most are turned away because of our limited space.
As our reputation for success grows, so does our wait list. That’s why – with considerable planning and preparation our Board of Directors set a goal to double the number of families we can serve in a year.
To achieve this goal we must expand our shelter and add more pathways to move motivated families through our program.
Your investment will enable:
- The construction of nine transformational apartment units Expanding capacity from two to nine families who will benefit from longer term supports.
- A 20-room expansion to the emergency shelter – Creating 41 rooms and bed space for up to 200. This will double the number of families we can serve in a year.
As we move toward completing our objective, The Hope for Families Center is seeking additional partners to help families reimagine what hope can truly mean and what their future can become.
We invite you to learn more about HFC’s visionary model for equipping families to become self-sufficient.
