How To Help

At The Hope for Families Center (HFC), we believe every family deserves the opportunity to thrive. Volunteering at The Hope for Families Center is an excellent opportunity to help families accomplish their goals as part of the HFC program and ultimately become sustainably self-sufficient and contributing members of our community.

Benefits of Volunteering

At The Hope for Families Center, we are very sensitive to the stigma that homelessness can cause.

  • We want to help families reduce the shame of  such a traumatic experience and support resilience and positive connections.
  • Your volunteer job at The Hope for Families Center may bring a superficial relationship with the families or connect more deeply and become exposed to the emotions families are experiencing. Respecting the privacy of HFC families is of utmost priority.
  • Volunteers are vital to our program as we want HFC families to know the importance of working together as a community and know they are not alone.
  • We want your volunteer experience to provide you with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction as you share your time, knowledge skills, and compassion with others.
  • Through the process of volunteering, we believe you will develop a more robust understanding of the importance of community involvement to help families experiencing homelessness.
